After 19 years with the Water Collaborative Delivery Association, the last 10 of those as its executive director, Mark E. Alpert, PE, FDBIA is stepping down and embracing his next chapter—retirement! For more than 40 years, Mark has been a pioneer in the development of collaborative project delivery for water and wastewater projects. He has led the WCDA through the metamorphosis from a small, 5-member council into a thriving 61-member association that continues to grow.

Mark’s reputation throughout the industry, the countless careers he has influenced, the number of projects he has worked on or advised, and the sheer volume of owners and industry practitioners that he has helped educate are staggering. It is rare to meet someone in this industry who has never heard of Mark Alpert!

While we know he will always be just a phone call away if needed, Mark’s daily presence will be missed by many. His well-earned retirement is an exciting new adventure for him and his family and we wish him all the best—many safe and happy travels, lots of time with his wife, children and grandchildren, new hobbies to explore, long walks with the dog, and whatever else he wants to dream up! And of course, don’t be surprised if you still see Mark occasionally teaching the Fundamentals of Collaborative Delivery somewhere near you!
