Barbara Martin

Executive Director

With over 25 years of water sector experience, Barbara Martin was most recently Director of Engineering and Technical Services at the American Water Works Association (AWWA) where she led a team of more than 25 staff and thousands of volunteers in the development of resources and programs to support the water community. Through her work at AWWA, she cultivated strategic partnerships to advance the vision of a sustainable and resilient future for the water community.

Barbara previously worked for a variety of global water sector solutions providers, which included North American business development responsibility for innovative process treatment technologies and analytical instrumentation. Barbara has a BA in chemistry from Boston University, an MS in geochemistry from Colorado School of Mines, where her thesis research focused on disinfection by-product formation and fate, and an MBA from Colorado State University.

In addition to her professional pursuit of water, you can often find Barbara immersed in it as a dedicated masters swimmer and member of the Colorado State Masters Swimming Association Board of Directors.
