About Eleanor Allen
As a seasoned CEO, business leader, entrepreneur, board member, technical specialist, and
professional engineer, Eleanor’s career trajectory has been anything but ordinary. She has
traveled to, and worked in, over 50 countries and has lived abroad for 12+ years. Ater more than
10 years as the top executive in three organizations in private and nonprofit sectors, what is
most important to Eleanor is to bring all her skills and experience together to help clients
succeed by working with them to solve their challenges, supporting them to reach their
potential, and launching new ideas with them through her two businesses: The World
Flourishing Organization (workplace flourishing measurement and advisory services) and
Catapult For Change (executive coaching).
As CEO of B Lab Global, Eleanor led the development of the new standard for B Corps –
businesses for good. As CEO of Water For People, Eleanor played a key role influencing
national utilities, governments and policy makers regarding regulations, laws, standards, and
policies for improving water and sanitation access and management around the world. She
also serves on several boards, is an award-winning social entrepreneur, and an experienced
chief executive with a strong background in building high performing teams.
Eleanor’s prior experience as an engineering consultant includes planning, design,
project/program management, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and
ultimately running Global and Latin American operations. She worked for municipal, federal,
and private-sector clients. Her technical expertise is in water and wastewater treatment, and
she has worked on designs for treatment plants all over the world. When moving from design
engineering to management, she led business units that included municipal and industrial
wastewater treatment, water treatment and reuse, wastewater conveyance and water
distribution, and water resources.
Her passions include coaching executives and leadership teams, helping organizations
improve their operations, guiding businesses with purpose, incorporating flourishing practices
into work and daily life, building high-performing multicultural teams, and mentoring social
change-makers and STEM professionals.
